My Top Ten Favourite Fabric Shops for Quilting in the UK!

Have you ever seen some beautiful fabric on Instagram to then find out that the person posting the picture lives in the USA or Canada and you can not find that fabric anywhere in the UK? This has happened to me and I have ended up spending so many hours obsessing over a certain print I just need to get my hands on. But these hours have not gone to waste, as from those hours of scrolling and searching I have found some absolute gems when it comes to fabric shops based in the UK.

I have listed my top ten fabric shops in the UK, all of whom I have used and bought fabric from in the last 6 months. Most of these are small independent on-line stores who house the most incredible selection of fabrics.

Take a look, you never know you may find the fabric you’ve been searching for!

On a quest to find any remaining Kona Snow cotton during lockdown in March 2020 (Kona cottons were like gold dust during this time!) I came across Cotton & Stitch. Art Gallery and Kona cottons galore (my favourite fabrics to work with) I was so excited to have found them. Here is more about them:

Cotton & Stitch is a UK based website that offers a range of colourful & patterned quality cottons from a range of designers like Art Gallery Fabrics, Dashwood Studios, Riley Blake and more. They create their own 'Make It Box' kits for beginner to intermediate sewers and love nothing more than to share their passion for sewing and crafts! Started by Mother & Daughter duo Vanessa and Laura, who themselves are avid sewers, understand the excitement felt when you receive a new bundle of gorgeous fabrics to play with, so their aim is to share this feeling with every customer who purchases from Cotton & Stitch.”

They also offer 10% off for new customers if you sign up to their newsletter and have a loyalty scheme where you collect points until you have enough for £10 for your next purchase!

Honestly some of the nicest people too - follow them here on Instagram @cotton.stitch
